Rowing Success

2015 NZ and NI U18 Reps

We had three girls trialling for the North Island U18 Team this season – Camilla Cochrane, Melissa Baars and Bayley Macdonald. After 3 days of trials Bayley was named to the team and raced in the Women’s 4+ (1st) and Women’s 8+ (2nd both days) against the South Island Team. The North Island team took home the trophy for the first time 5 years!

Braeden Camp earned a NZ Junior trial and after 6 days of trialling was named the NZ Junior Men’s 4X to race in Rio de Janerio at the 2015 Junior World Rowing Champs. Fantastic achievement for Braeden, who is also eligible for the team in 2016.

Georgia Perry (2011) and Lucy Spoors (2009) are part of the NZ Elite Women’s 4X who will be trying to qualify the boat for next year’s Rio Olympics at the World Champs in France later this year.

Matthew Dunham (2012) is part of the NZ U23 Men’s Lightweight 2X that will compete in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in July. After making last year’s NZ Junior team, Samantha Voss (2014) has jumped straight into the U23 NZ Women’s 4X that will also compete in Bulgaria.
